PROJECT UPDATE
A new walking heritage trail is progressing in the heart of Brunswick.
After successfully introducing heritage trails in Australind, Harvey, and Leschenault, we are now bringing the same storytelling experience to Brunswick — celebrating the town’s unique history and the people who helped shape it.
The team has been working closely with local stakeholders to map key historic sites across the town centre.
Each of these locations will feature a 200mm QR code disc that links to online stories, photographs and additional information. Two larger 1400mm interpretive signs and a trailheader map will also be installed to highlight significant historic moments and themes.
The trail content has been developed in collaboration with Harvey History Online, valuable local resources such as Reflections Within the Harvey Shire, and state and national archives.
We have also partnered with the Brunswick Junction Lions Club on a dedicated heritage sign sharing the history of rail in Brunswick. This sign, funded by the Lions Club, will be installed in the New Year inside their gazebo near the Bowling Club.
A trail map will be available online — and as a printable download for those who prefer not to use digital devices.
Installation is planned between April and June 2026.
If you would like to learn more about the project or ask any questions, please get in touch with the Shire’s Economic Development- Destination Harvey Region team at info@harveyregion.com.au
