Irishman, soldier, convict, poet, author, lecturer and local legend.

Have you ever heard the amazing tale of John Boyle O’Reilly?

In 1868 he arrived as a political prisoner (one of 62) along with 279 convicts.

While working as a member of a convict road crew in Bunbury, John began plotting his daring escape… and he pulled it off!

Join tour guide Peter Murphy as he maps out the legendary tale that will see you rambling through nature, in the same area where the fight for freedom took place, more than 150 years ago 🇨🇮.
