The Harvey Region team was proud to attend the 2025 Western Australian Tourism Conference, held in the vibrant port city of Fremantle. This annual event brought together tourism professionals, government representatives, and industry leaders from across the state for three days of insights, inspiration and learning.
Held at the historic Esplanade Hotel the conference proved to be an invaluable opportunity to connect with fellow regional stakeholders and gain a deeper understanding of the WA State Government’s strategic direction for tourism. With a strong focus on sustainable growth and leveraging the Western Australia’s incredible natural attractions, the State’s tourism agenda clearly highlighted the importance of regional destinations like the Harvey Region in shaping WA’s visitor economy.

Throughout the conference, the team were inspired by a series of thought-provoking presentations and case studies showcasing the exceptional work of local governments and tourism operators who are leading the way in campaign development, visitor experience, and tourism infrastructure. From creative marketing strategies to innovative product development, these success stories provided tangible ideas and inspiration that we look forward to exploring further in our own region.

It was encouraging to see such a strong emphasis on community-led tourism, Aboriginal cultural experiences, and the growing importance of nature-based and agritourism—areas where the Harvey Region has great potential to shine. The sessions not only reaffirmed the value of what the Harvey Region team are already doing but also provided some inspiration for how the region can continue to evolve and grow as a destination of choice.
The Harvey Region team returned from Fremantle with a renewed sense of purpose, fresh ideas, and valuable connections that will help them better support local operators and elevate our tourism offerings available in the region.
