Australind & Leschenault Heritage Trails Now Underway

PROGRESS UPDATE

Stage 1 of the Australind and Leschenault heritage trails project is underway.

The Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program funded the first stage of the Australind Heritage Trail Project. This initiative supports Australian councils in delivering priority local road and community infrastructure projects in their region.

Mr Treen

These installations are the first step in a broader set of heritage trails throughout Australind, Leschenault and Harvey, designed to showcase the rich heritage of the Harvey Region, with the interpretive signage offering a little insight into the people, places, and stories that have shaped our region.

Over the coming months, the heritage trails will continue to grow, expanding into the Harvey CBD and surrounding areas, with more stories waiting to be uncovered. Trailheaders will also be installed at key locations.

Following installation, maps and additional information will be created on the Harvey Region website, helping visitors plan their journey and learn more about the historical significance of each site.

Once completed, the heritage trails project will offer a comprehensive and engaging experience for locals and visitors.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to ‘take a walk through time‘ and explore this first section of the trail.

More Inspiration.
