Join us at Fee’s Field, overlooking the Leschenault Estuary, for an unforgettable evening beneath the stars as we explore how the night sky has guided people for thousands of years with Western Australia’s premier stargazing events company.

Long before GPS and modern technology, navigators relied on the sun, moon and stars to chart their course across oceans and continents.

Discover the fascinating history of celestial navigation through an engaging presentation by renowned astronomer David Nicolson, featuring historic instruments including sextants, slide rules and chronometers.

As darkness falls, experience the wonders of our region’s night sky with a guided laser tour and telescope viewing led by the team from Star Tracks Astro Events.

Marvel at the Milky Way, distant galaxies and celestial landmarks while learning about the stories, science and navigation traditions that have connected people to the stars for generations.

A unique Heritage Festival experience celebrating exploration, discovery and our enduring relationship with the night sky.

Hot chocolate and warm drinks will be available for purchase.

Accessibility information:

This event will be held outdoors on a grassed area adjacent to the estuary. To allow for optimal telescope viewing, lighting will be kept to a minimum, and the site will be dimly lit throughout the evening.

Guests are encouraged to take care when moving around the event space and to wear suitable footwear for uneven ground.

What to bring:

• Please wear weather-appropriate clothing, including flat shoes (undulating, grass surface).
• Warm blanket. Outdoor heaters will also be available to help keep you comfortable throughout the evening,
• Torch.

• Movement of the Solar System game with children,
• Distance between planets game with children,
• Mars Curiosity video and landing-on-Mars game with children.
