Harvey Library
May Gibbs, creator of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, will be celebrated with a week of activities in Harvey from 12 to 18 September 2026.

Activities will kick off with a singing picnic for toddlers at Stirling Cottage Gardens and the adjacent May Gibbs Trail.

During the week, the Harvey Library will run a craft competition, an art workshop, and May Gibbs storytimes. The Library will also display items from May Gibbs’ life, kindly lent by Harvey Museum and the Knight family.

On Friday, September 18, a finale afternoon tea will include:

  • A talk by a member of May Gibbs’ family
  • Presentation of her newly published May Gibbs book by author Dianne Wolfer
  • Prize giving for the May Gibbs craft competition
  • Celebration of 105 years of Harvey Public Library building.
