May Gibbs Celebrations @ Harvey Library

May Gibbs, creator of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, will be celebrated with a week of activities in Harvey from 12 to 18 September 2026.

Activities will kick off with a singing picnic for toddlers at Stirling Cottage Gardens and the adjacent May Gibbs Trail.

During the week, at the Harvey Library:

• Craft competition – entries open on 21 August and close on 16 September
• May Gibbs story times.
• Display items from May Gibbs’ life, kindly lent by Harvey Museum and the Knight family.

On Friday, 18 September, a finale afternoon tea will include:

• A presentation by a member of May Gibbs’ family
• Presentation of her newly published May Gibbs book by author Dianne Wolfer
• Prize giving for the May Gibbs craft competition
• Celebration of 105 years of Harvey Public Library building.
