The first ever Love the Lesch Fest is on in celebration of the natural values of the Leschenault Estuary.

The Leschenault Catchment Council have a packed program full of activities for the whole family which will kick off at 10am at Ridley Place Foreshore Park (near the giant crab)!

Register at the links below to join the cultural walk, urban gardening workshops and the threatened species talk (be quick as they are sure to fill up!) or just come along and enjoy local food vendors, information stalls and the many family-friendly activities available. There will be free face painting at 11.30am and live music over lunchtime.

  • 10.30am – 12.30pm Ngalang Wongi Aboriginal Cultural Tour: Walk and listen with Troy Bennell owner of Ngalang Wongi on a six season cultural tour. Tickets available here.
  • 10.30am – 11.30am Composting and Worm Farms: Passionate gardener, permaculture designer and writer Wink Lindsay will answer all your burning questions on how to get the most out of your compost and worm farm. Cost free, registration essential and can be made here.
  • 11.40am – 12.40pm Fauna Friendly Gardening: Workshop with Gardening Australia’s very own Mandy Bamford. Cost free, registration essential and can be made here.
  • 1.00pm – 2.00pm Waterwise Gardens: Workshop presented by the Forever Project’s Chris Ferreira. Cost free, registration essential and can be made here.
  • 2.10pm-3.00pm Habitat for Cockatoo’s: Workshop presented by Carnaby’s Crusader Dean Arthurell. Cost free, registration essential and can be made here.
