Springhill Farm Historic Site 1862

Springhill Farm was built in 1862 by Benjamin Piggott, who passed away in 1892, and his wife, Sarah, 15 years later.

Their children were Charlotte (Lottie), Mary (Polly), Tom, Elizabeth and Benjamin Jnr. Benjamin was in the photo we posted this week with his Bullock team. They were born there, and most are buried at Springhill Cemetery. Elizabeth married William Reading.

The farm was left to their niece, Violet Jones, nee Reading, grandmother of Loma Fahey, nee Jones.
