Ridley Place Foreshore Kite Surfing Set Up Zone
South-west prevailing wind is ideal for Kite Surfing on the Leschenault Estuary.
Generally, summer months with afternoon sea breeze from SW direction +20kt are the best.
A launch area is located at the Ridley Place Foreshore, in front of the northern car park. Riders may tether to the big tree and set up on the grass. It’s large enough for a small group of riders.
Please follow marine safety regulations.
Wildlife Considerations
The Leschenault Estuary is part of the Kalgulup Region Park and is a major wildlife sanctuary.
Three flocks (bevys) of Black Swans live within the Estuary. Riders are encouraged to avoid the very northern section of the Estuary plus immediately south of the Australind Jetty where swans breed.
The Estuary is also home to a pod of dolphins.
