Memories of Brunswick Showgrounds Mural

The Memories of Brunswick Showgrounds Mural is a public art piece celebrating the community spirit and history of the Brunswick Recreation Ground.

The mural was crafted by Artist Jacob Butler (Shakey) and is a celebration of the incredible contributions made to the community by the many local individuals and organisations who utilise the showgrounds, including the Brunswick Agricultural Society, Harvey Leschenault Brunswick Football Club and Peters-Brownes Creamery.

Jacob Butler (Shakey) is an artist who has completed numerous large mural projects and artworks incorporating photos like this. Jacob works in many mediums including acrylics, oils, pastels, and aerosols.

Jacob’s essential tremor that existed from birth got him branded ‘Shakey’, giving him his unique, free-flowing, intuitive style.

His story has been featured in the West Australian, Channel 7’s Today Tonight, on radio and via an award-winning short film Shakey’s Story.
