Plunkett Place Historic Site 1930s

Plunkett Place Historic Site 1930s
Plunkett Place in Australind was named after the Plunkett Family.

In the 1920s/30s, Grace Wright, wife of Charles Frederick Wright Jnr, purchased an acre of land backing onto the western side of the family farm.

She sourced a small house from Wellington Mill, which was transported to and set up on the land overlooking the estuary.

The house was rented to Alf Plunkett, Charles’ cousin. The Plunkett’s lived there so long that the house and street became known as Plunkett’s Place.
