Beela – Big Tree Scenic Gravel Drive

Beela – Big Tree Scenic Gravel Drive
The Beela – Big Tree Scenic Gravel Drive will take you through our lush farming country and then onto the forests of Mornington.

To get the best out of the drive, start from Beela Road opposite the Brunswick Tavern and follow the river along Beela Road for 8 km until it becomes gravel.

Continue until you hit Flynn Road. This will take you to Big Tree Road and deep into the Mornington Forest.

Stop at Treasure Bridge and enjoy a picnic on the banks of the upper Brunswick River. Cross the river before Big Tree Road turns right (north). Continue along Big Tree Road for approximately 2.2km, where you will hit a junction of trails and roads. To your left is the hidden (no signage) Big Tree Jarrah Hadfield, aka Big Tree or Big Haddy.

After attempting to hug Big Haddy, continue north on Big Tree Road, until you reach the junction of Sandalwood Road.

Head down the hill, taking in impressive views from the Darling Scarp to the coast.

Please check road conditions before departing.
