Harvey Region RV Friendly Short Stay Rest Areas: A Big Win for Visitors and the Community

RV Friendly Sites Creating Connections, Supporting Local Businesses, and Helping People Find New Opportunities

Harvey Region has truly embraced the spirit of adventure with its RV Friendly Short Stay Rest Areas, and the results speak for themselves! Recent surveys of visitors using these facilities in Harvey, Brunswick, and Yarloop, show they are not only popular but also making a positive impact on our local economy.

Who’s Visiting?

Most visitors come from right here in Western Australia, but Harvey Region’s charm has reached far and wide, attracting travellers from NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, and even TAS. Among the stops, Harvey tops the list as the most visited area, followed by Brunswick Junction, Yarloop, and Australind.

Supporting Local Businesses

One of the most exciting findings? 97% of visitors shopped locally!  Here’s how much they spent:

$200–$500: 36.71%.

$100–$200: 27.85%

$50–$100: 20.25%

$0–$50: 8.86%

$500–$1,000: 3.80%

That’s a fantastic boost for our local shops, cafes, and services!

What Visitors Are Saying

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Here are some heartwarming highlights:

“No longer travelling. As a result of this programme stayed in Harvey long enough to secure employment. Live & work here now.”

“We will be back, and I have some workers set up for the night to complete some works in the Industrial Park next week so will bring more $$ into the region.”

“The Yarloop facility is perfect for us… We do try to put something back into the rural communities that offer free overnight stays for RVs – and that’s how we decide where to shop … we prefer to shop in RV-friendly towns, rather than waiting until we get to cities.”

“Outstanding initiative.”

And our favourite comment: “HARVEY REGION IS THE BEST!”
