School Holidays in the Harvey Region

If you’re looking for a family-friendly escape these school holidays, the Harvey Region has all the ingredients for a memorable getaway.

Just a short 90-minute drive from Perth, this hidden gem in Western Australia is packed with natural beauty, hands-on experiences, and plenty of space for the kids to roam free. From coastal adventures and bushwalks to farm visits and fresh local eats, the Harvey Region is the perfect place to slow down, reconnect, and make the most of the school break.

Mini Golf at Old Coast Road Brewery

Nestled halfway between Mandurah and Bunbury, find Old Coast Road Brewery, a family-friendly venue offering plenty of free space for kids to run and play while parents can relax on the outdoor deck. Their menu includes plenty of share options, kids meals, pub classics and woodfired pizza.

If you’re up for a bit of friendly competition, the brewery is also home to an 18-hole mini golf course. Each hole highlights a Western Australian attraction so you can learn while you play.

The cost to play is $20 per adult, $10 per child, or $50 for families.

A special Easter Egg hunt will take place on Monday, 21 April from 11am with 100 Easter eggs scattered around, waiting to be found.

This local favourite is the perfect place to grab a meal during your visit to the Harvey Region, with an impressive indoor play area for the kids to roam free while you relax.

Throughout the holidays, the Farm is hosting several school holiday activities, including free hair braiding, acrobatics and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself.

Climb the Big Orange

Kids love to climb, and what’s more fun than climbing a giant orange?

Located inside Harvey River Estate, the Big Orange sits atop a 10-metre tower with an additional 4-metre climb to a viewing platform inside the orange.

After your climb, stop inside the Estate for a refreshing drink of their delicious range of fruit juices made on the property.

Entry to the Orange is a gold coin donation that supports Telethon.

Karragarup Play Space

When visiting the Harvey Region, ensure Karragarup Play Space at Ridley Place Foreshore is on your list. This nature play area is situated on the edge of the Leschenault Estuary, offers hours of outdoor fun.

Named after the Noongar word Karragarup, meaning ‘place of the crabs‘, the space’s highlight is a giant Blue Manna crab structure that can be climbed on and crawled through.

This impressive nature play space features a flying fox zipline, a balancing ropes course, natural climbing elements, and a mangrove-inspired cubby house, so there’s plenty to explore.

Discover cuddly farm animals and breathtaking flower fields at Harvey Farm Barn, in Cookernup.

Soak in the excitement with an impressive playground, relaxing picnic area and fresh coffee to enjoy.
