Harvey Welcomes Global Agri-Tourism Pioneers on Landmark Tour

The Harvey Region recently played host to an extraordinary event—the First International Agri-Tourism Tour—bringing together 54 farmers and agri-tourism leaders from the USA, Canada, and the UK.

The group, all members of the International/North American Agriculture Marketing Association, embarked on a journey to explore and exchange insights on the industry in the Southern Hemisphere for the very first time.

Their visit to Harvey was met with a warm welcome from Councillor Wendy Dickinson and respected Harvey Aboriginal Elder Lesley Ugle, who shared insights into the rich agricultural history and culture of the area.

A highlight of the trip for the visitors was climbing the iconic Big Orange, followed by a picnic lunch in the Stirling Cottage Gardens. The meal, a curated spread from Secret Picnic and the Boola Bidi Dreaming Centre, showcased the region’s finest local flavours.

With this visit, the seeds of international collaboration in Agri-tourism have been firmly planted, promising future growth for the region.
