History

In 1925, Harvey Co-Op advertised as a draper, grocer, hardware and produce merchant.

Unfortunately, the first Harvey Co-Op before it burnt down in 1935.

The building was replaced by a brick Co-Op, later known as the Sunny West Co-Operative Dairies LTD. The Co-op (now IGA) doubled in size in 1988 when the shop was
extended across the car park.

Interesting Fact: The store initially had wooden verandah posts. Staff decorate them with eucalyptus branches and crepe paper streamers each Christmas.
