All Saints Anglican Church and Hall

An All Saints Anglican Church and Hall has stood in Yarloop since 1909.

Thomas Jackson was made Reader-in-Charge of Yarloop in September of that year. With the assistance of members of the local church committee, he then erected a church, rectory, and stables.

The timber church was furnished with a sanctuary, screen, reredos, an altar with carved panels and a small stained-glass window containing a figure of St Peter. Bishop Goldsmith of Bunbury officially dedicated it on 14 November 1909.

Jackson was ordained as a Deacon in June 1910 at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Bunbury.

Sadly, in the church he had built, he collapsed and died of heart failure in November 1910 during a confirmation service when Bishop Goldsmith was officiating.

Fire destroyed both the church and the rectory in 2006.

The hall, built in the 1950s as a meeting place for the Ladies’ Guild, survived both the 2006 fire and 2016 Bushfires and is now used as an interdenominational meeting place. It is now known as the Yarloop Church or Yarloop Community Church.
