DESCRIPTION:Visit the Featured Wood Gallery & Museum and immerse yourself in a world of wood and history during the Harvey Heritage Festival\, 11 – 13 September 2026.\nThe Ablett family has been in the wood working trade for five generations and the current gallery and museum has been at Piggott Drive in Australind for thirty years. \nThe museum exhibits have taken over forty years to compile and include a large collection of historical items from around the world\, plus local artifacts of historical significance. \nThe first thing you see as you enter is the wood gallery. Works in the Wood Gallery are hand crafted on site by owner\, artist and craftsman\, John Ablett. So\, if you are looking for that special sculpture for your home or business\, check it out! \nThe second section of the building is dedicated to a unique military collection of memorabilia and history – displays range from Aboriginal Culture\, Native American\, Wild West\, American Civil War\, World War One and Two and plenty more\, including for the aviation enthusiast\, over fifty hanging aeroplanes. \nWestern Australian Now and Then commented about the Military Museum \n“We have visited a number of military museums in W.A. but have never seen anything quite like this before.
