Harvey Fish and Chips is not your standard fish and chip shop. Besides mouthwatering, locally caught Bronze whaler with crunchy chips, you will find the owner’s Indian heritage shines through with regular curry options such as Butter Chicken with saffron rice.

There are a few dine-in tables, or you can place a takeaway order. For those short on time, hit the grab-n-go options, including lunch boxes, rolls, sandwiches, and specials of the day.

Niroop and his team also offer multiple or group-serve options, perfect for catering your next event or family day out.

History

Image: Doug Fryer

This quaint building was once called Fryer Bros. Established in 1922, Fryer Bros. was a general store in Harvey during the 1920s and 30s run by brothers Doug and Syd Fryer.

Both brothers worked at the original Wilson’s Store until 1921, when the shop burnt down. This led them to establish their own store.

Fryer Bros. sold groceries, fruit and vegetables, hardware and produce. Their service also included deliveries.
